Little Wonton @ Taman Tun Dr Ismail, A Day Deaf Restaurant.

Little Wonton, a one day Deaf Restaurant.

A week ago, I noticed something interesting in my FB timeline where a guy named Syed Azmi from TTDI FB community posted about this upcoming Deaf Restaurant on the 28 Sep. I was long ago supportive of this idea of hiring people who is impaired in speech and hearing into the services industry. This enable to bring them closer to the society and being self reliant.

I am really happy that Little Wonton @TTDI willing to took up this initiative to start off this project.

Sadly, is only a one time event, which is on the 28 September and only last for 6 hours!
I hope they would do it more often!

Little Wonton is located on the first floor, just right above 99 Speedmart.

Once you spot this sign, proceed to the staircase.

There were already a huge crowd when I enter around 3pm.

No idea how to communicate with them?

NO WORRIES!

Surrounding the restaurant wall have a few helpful posters!!!

Beside that, their menu were specifically design to ease you in your sign language learning process!!

So blessed! It is very easy to pick up and the waiters and waitresses were so helpful!

One of the waiter who served us, name called Mr Wong.

He was a bit reserved at first, probably shy.

Thank goodness that I did some sign language homework before coming here.

We were able to exchange our name and ask each other how are you!

He is really friendly and helpful in teaching me sign language.

Thanks Mr Wong :)

If I am not mistaken throughout my sign language communication, he mentioned that he is still single and hope that he will able to find a suitable partner in future to get married.

I hope you will find one soon! You can do it :)

In each table, they have this pocket handbook where you can learn a few useful sign language while waiting for your order to come :)

Here come the food !!!

Green tea@RM4

Their green tea is refillable thus is why probably price at RM4.

Curry Laksa@RM6.9

Delicious !! I love the soup base, keep drinking it hehe...
Love the aroma and the black charcoal noodles.

The portion were perfect for me but definitely not enough for those who is a big eater!

Kaya Banana Wanton @ RM7.9

Interesting combination for me ! Not bad.

No Tax and Service Charge!! *HAPPY*

A special thanks to Little Wonton, Malaysian Federation of the Deaf, Mr Wong who assist me in my orders and also to those who assist in this project!

I have finally experience how to talk in sign language!

What I have learned today have been very meaningful.

I hope with this few sign language that I picked up today enable me to communicate to people who uses sign language.

Elena

Dear Siaw Wee,

It was my pleasure to be able to welcome you here and to bring some warm and homy feeling to you in this bustling city! I hope that you have a very enjoyable experience during your stay here. So I will be seeing you staying somewhere near me again right in future? hehe..

For these past 3 months, you have really grown up quite a lot! Mature and getting prettier! Erhmm... especially your driving skills. Cant believe that you are so brave enough to lift up your hand and wave to the driver when he doesn't let you to switch to his lane. I was like "Oh My Goodness" and quickly move my face to the other direction. Just incase if that driver is some KL gangsters hahaha!!

It was such a blessing for me to have you in KL! I have meet lots of awesome new friends through you and also get to learn a new team sport called "Touch Rugby"!! Other than that, we both have successfully uploaded two videos into youtube. YAY!! It was such an enjoyable experience in making those videos! Thanks for your encouragement!

You are now in your final year, you better "pull up your sock" and work hard to get the best result that you are hoping for! And I want to see you in five years time with a tittle IR! Jia You ah!! xD

Every once a blue moon will come back and visit you all!! Erhmm... not that I "bo heart" only come once a blue moon but because you all will be busy ma :_D Pai seh..if I disturb busy student.

All the best in your studies! And remember to call/text/whatsapp/FB me anytime if you need me :)

Best Regards,
Eileen

PS: You are missing out in our escape room team!!

No worries, if you ever have decided to come back KL to work, I will belanja you one entrance ticket! *bribing*

My Bucket of To Do List before I turn 25 years old.

My to do to list !! To be achieved before the age of 25 years old :_)

1. To climb up to the top of Mount Kinabalu !
Widely known as the 5th tallest mountain in South East Asia.
Close enough for me to challenge myself and something to be proud off!

2. To hike along Tai Long Wan trail, Hong Kong.
A 12km long trail where you can see beautiful coastline, mangroves and a chain of some of the
beautiful beaches! I am so excited for this! :D

3. To have a one week off to either Korea or Japan. Will persuade my mum to let me go to Japan!
She is worried about the radiation exposure :(
I have been wanting to travel to Japan for ages but Korea will do so too because I love Korea
     food!
Oh..maybe before entering to Korea or Japan, I shall consider to drop by to Ningbo, China to visit
my squash buddies, erhmm.. to get free breakfast, lunch and dinner from someone who is earning
big bucks !! $$$$  "you know who you are" hahahaha!

4. To lose another 8kgs!! Just want to fulfil my childhood dream!
Been fat since young :(  Going to make sure that I have utilised my gym membership!

5. To join a few (at least twice each year) marathon run and collect those awesome medals!
Keeping my stamina up :D hmm.. I shall consider joining international marathon once I have
achieved the normal running stamina!! which is able to run 6 km in 30 minutes :O

Overall, I will have to be extra careful with my spending T.T
Though I am working now but I have chosen the road not taken where I have decided to take an offer that gives me the lowest salary and benefits among others :/
Thus I will have to cultivate a thrifty habit!! Less outside food, more home food.

I can do this !!!

Starting with my first successful 6.5km IEM Marathon Run with my fellow buddies :D

Thanks Siaw Wee (left) , who encourages me to run for this marathon!!

Without you, I couldn't even believe that I am able to achieve this :)

Love,
Elena

An eulogy for my good friend, Chong Poee.

Dear Poee,

I am very honoured to have known you and to have had the pleasure to be your housemate in that somewhat rundown house in TTS2 for over two years!! I remembered how you disliked the red sofa in the living room so much that you resolved to remove it by any means possible! In the end, it ended up in the porch and became a haven for animals, mainly stray dogs and cats. Haha…

You had taught me a valuable life lesson; to live our lives to the fullest! Indeed, you had shown it throughout the years. You are always the daredevil, willing to explore and try new things. When you are back from Yellowstone, the United States, you told me how much you enjoyed the nature there and your wish to be back in the States again! And you, being the person you are, indeed returned again after a year but this time to the beautiful place, Alaska. You are truly an example of living a life without regrets. You will grab every opportunity to explore the road not taken. Sadly, life is just too short. When you departed, I realised that I had forsaken all these important messages that you had once conveyed to me two years ago! I am not as strong as you to have the courage to explore the depths of the waters, but now you had shown me that life is indeed sometimes too short to just think; that sometimes, we have to just chase after it rather than simply fear it. I finally get what you mean now.

I regretted that I haven’t had the chance to bring you to visit the nightclubs. We housemates were so curious at the time and yet we just never had the chance. It would probably turn out to be an unforgettable night out. I remembered how positive you were when situations just go haywire.  You were calm when you were late for class (wait…you’re always late for class!!!), you were laughing when you locked yourself out, leaving your key inside the locked room (I got someone to smash your door...haha! ) and you were totally relaxed when you didn’t bring your student ID for examination.

I will always remember your jolly good spirit and your unforgettable laughter! Your life will not be forgotten as you had left a legacy behind and an important remembrance for me. Your postive attitude and thoughts of living life to the fullest without regrets will always be engraved in my heart. I promise you, I will be brave just like you! I will try my best to explore the world on your behalf!

Lastly, thank you, Poee!!

May you rest in peace and enjoy yourself to the max in heaven!!

I know you will….

Sincerely,
Eileen Pang.
